Behind and Behinder!

Filed under: Uncategorized — carlacassidy @ 9:44 pm

I have neglected posting here for a while – focusing on wellness and health. I have three chemo treatments and one small surgery left and then I’m finished! During this whole ordeal, I’ve discovered what I’ve missed the most…having truly productive days of writing, going out anywhere and visiting with friends. I took my first trip to the grocery store last week and I was so excited to be out and see people.

I’m still bald, but have a variety of hats, sparkly pink and black with bling, what else does a girl need??

I have a new reprint to announce – Every Move You Make is now out on Kindle for the first time. It’s a big romantic suspense.

I’m working on books for both Harlequin Intrigue and Harlequin Romantic Suspense, keeping busy taking naps between words. For anyone who has asked, the last of the Men of Wolf Creek books is out – Lone Wolf.

Others have asked about my Return to series with Intrigue. Return to Bachelor Moon, Return to Mystic Lake are already out and the last of the series will be out in Oct. Hope you all enjoy them.

That’s it from me for now. Thanks for stopping by!

Happy Holidays

Filed under: Uncategorized — carlacassidy @ 2:56 am

The tree is decorated, the gifts all wrapped and I am now sitting at my desk sipping a glass of egg nog.  The chaos will come on Monday, when the family gatherings begin, but for now I’m at peace!

I had promised to disclose things about me that few people know each time I blog, so here goes…

I hate peanut butter, but I like peanuts and peanut butter cookies.

I can’t write to music because I always want to sing.  I sing all the time when I’m alone in the car and sometimes I sing so loud other occupants in other cars stare at me.

I can spend a ton of money in the dollar store and I’m a sucker for ordering things that are advertised on television.  That Stuftz hamburger thing has been calling my name, but so far I have managed to resist!

As always, I’d like everyone to know that I have a new book coming out on January 1st.  This is the second in the Men of Wolf Creek series.

Don’t forget that book one of the series, Cold Case, Hot Accomplish is still for sale!

I also had said that with each blog I’d like to feature one of my backlist books. This time it’s The Perfect Family.

He has been watching her for years. He knows everything he needs to know about Marissa and her son and daughter. He’s been more than patient and now it’s time for him to claim the family he needs, the family he deserves. It’s time to claim Marissa and her children as the perfect family of his own.

This is a big romantic suspense and another one of my favorite books. I hope you’ll check it out. As always I appreciate it if you take the time to leave me a review on Amazon.

I also want to take this time to thank my readers and wish everyone happy holidays. May you find the peace I feel right at this moment and may it linger in your heart longer than it’s going to take me to finish this egg nog.

Just Another Blog all about me

Filed under: Uncategorized — carlacassidy @ 12:59 am

I’ve decided for the next blogs I do I’ll give up a few facts about me and showcase both my upcoming and my backlist books.

I love purple.  My entire office is decorated in purple.  I even have a purple high heel pencil sharpener.  I once wore a purple wig at a writer’s retreat and I looked like death.  Purple is pretty in an office but not on my head!

Up until two years ago I was still going to a dance studio for tap lessons each week.  I’ve been a dancer all my life and my biggest fear about this hip surgery is that I’ll never dance again.

And now…to book news.   Scene of the Crime: Return to Bachelor Moon is up for an RT Reviewer’s Choice Award for best Intrigue of the year. .Return to Bachelor Moon

promise him anything ebookPromise Him Anything was my very first big romantic suspense…and it is a true suspense novel.  You know from the very first page of the book who the bad guy is and what lengths he’ll go to in order to get to the heroine and their son.  Juliette Monroe and her son had been on the run from her abusive husband for a year.  With his endless resources he’s finally hunted her down in Riverton, Kansas where cop Nick Corelli, a man haunted by his own past, promises to keep Juliette and her son safe.

Juliette had promised her husband, David Blankenship she would never leave him.  She lied…and now he’s determined to make her pay.  You can find Promise Him Anything at Amazon and if you get a chance to read it or any of my other books, I would love it if you’d leave a review.

That’s it from me this time…see you in a week or so!

Post Surgery and new releases!

Filed under: Uncategorized — carlacassidy @ 1:23 am

I’m now seven weeks post-surgery and sick to death of the walker!  But, it looks like it is going to be my closest companion for another couple of weeks or so.  I’m healing slowly, but that didn’t stop me from attending my writing chapters writing retreat last weekend.  There’s nothing better than getting together with like-minded crazy people!

Basswood lake 3

The place where we hold our retreat used to be one of President Truman’s sporting homes and it’s set on a beautiful lake.  The scenery is definitely great for getting the creativity juices flowing!  It was a weekend of good food, good company and I had lots of people helping me maneuver the walker.

And now I’d also like to remind you all that November 1st my book, Scene of the Crime: Return to Bachelor Moon will be on the stands.

Return to Bachelor Moon

I had fun with this book.  I decided to return to Bachelor Moon and mess up the happy ending I’d made for my hero and heroine in that book.  I thought it might be interesting to revisit old characters and put them in danger once again.  Of course this new book has a hot sexy hero and a strong-willed woman who makes him crazy with desire and the need to protect her.

I hope you all enjoy it!

Stay tuned for more updates here and thanks for visiting!

Surgery and Sunshine

The Colton Bride

Coming in October!

Isn’t this the most beautiful cover??

Well, this Monday I’m having hip replacement surgery.  I must say I’m excited to get it done and be back in my high heels.  Speaking of high heels, this is a picture of the ones I intended to wear at the RWA conference, but I just couldn’t do it.  Next year for sure!

Aren’t they beautiful??!  And deadly!!

Speaking of deadly, I’m hard at work on several new projects that I hope you’ll find chilling and thrilling.  Seems the idea of going into surgery has made ideas buzz around in my head like bees.  I’ve been busy making notes and have started three new projects in the last two days.  Wanted to get a little of each down before going to drug land.

Anyway, thanks for stopping by.

And if you’re looking for a good book be sure to check out on backlist of big suspense books available on Amazon kindle…Are You Afraid, Promise Him Anything, Every Move You Make, Broken Pieces, and others.

And anytime you read one of my books I would appreciate it if you’d leave a review on Amazon.

Happy Reading!

In the meantime, the last of the Cowboy Café books is still on sale – Confessing to The Cowboy, and I’m busy working on my next series of books.

Enjoy reading!

Free download and the last of the Cowboy Cafe Series!

Filed under: Uncategorized — carlacassidy @ 12:15 am

I just wanted to remind everyone that the third book in the Cowboy Café series, Cowboy With A Cause, is a free download.

Also, the last book in the series, Confessing To The Cowboy will be out June 1st!

I’ll be sorry to leave this series behind but I’m already at work on a new series, Men of Wolf Creek.  Hunky heroes, strong heroines and danger around every corner, I’m enjoying visiting the little Pennsylvania town of Wolf Creek.

On a personal note, I’m busy packing for a road trip to Lake Havasu, Arizona where my hubby and I will visit his eight-eight year old mother and celebrate the 95th birthday of her husband.  He’s sharp as a whip, loves to draw and paint picture of birds and plays a mean harmonica.  It should be a fun time.

My favorite part of a road trip is that the wheels on the car make me sleep like a baby.  I sleep and I eat on car trips.  Occasionally I crack an eye open to see the landscape.   Of course, I’m taking work with me and hoping to get busy on the next book on my schedule.

Hope you’ll stop by again!

Normally April isn’t a fun month for me.  There are taxes and then there are those rainy, stormy days that the Midwest endures.  But this is a great month for me as I have not one, not two, but three new releases and one of them is FREE!  Hope you enjoy!

Cowboy With A Cause – Beyond the Book

Filed under: Uncategorized — carlacassidy @ 7:36 pm

cowboy with a cause

Cowboy With A Cause is the third book in the Cowboy Cafe series and is out this month.   I’ve talked here many times about my crazy family but I dedicated this book to my daughter, Darlene.

A little over two years ago Darlene woke up with drop foot and neuropathy.  At thirty-three years old she went immediately into a wheelchair.  We shed many tears as she tried to understand why this had happened, as she adjusted to life without walking.  It took a while for all of us to come to the realization that this wasn’t just a temporary issue and we needed to face the fact that she would be in a wheelchair for the rest of her life.

As she adjusted, finding the strength and will to continue living as if she had no disability, my admiration for her…my bi-polar, borderline child, grew.  Then six months ago she was fitted with a brace that finally got her back on her feet.  It was like a miracle…she could walk again under her own steam!

A week before Christmas she fell and broke her femur bone in her bad leg.  At the same time I had just undergone hip repair surgery that limited my movement.  As I whined about pain and being unable to drive, about not being able to bend over or wear high heels, she’s been a trooper once again.

We’re both slowly healing, but again she has reminded me of the strength of spirit she possesses, an acceptance of each and every obstacle life throws her way.

She’ll probably be back in the wheelchair after her bone heals and will need to re-learn to use the brace to walk, but I have no doubt that she’ll do just that.  That’s why this book is important to me, for it celebrates all women who deal with difficult issues and just get on with life…because that’s who we are…because that’s what we do!

Happy reading and thanks for stopping by!
