The Grayson Family

        Cowboy Deputy on sale now!

I’ve written a lot of series for Harlequin, but few of them have generated the reader mail that I’ve received for the Lawmen of Black Rock series.

The Grayson family consists of a Sheriff, three deputies, and an FBI agent.  At the beginning of book one, Deputy Brittany Grayson has been kidnapped and the continuing thread of her dangerous situation has definitely struck a chord with readers.

Cowboy Deputy is Brittany’s brother, Benjamin’s story.  I’d like to think that it isn’t just Brittany’s kidnapping that has kept readers coming back to this series, but also the fact that the heroes I’ve created are strong, good men who protect not only their town, but also the women they love.

These are men who don’t have all the answers, but will go do whatever necessary to find them.  I want my readers to fall in love with my heroes and admire and like my heroines.

Thank to all the readers who have responded so positively to the men of Black Rock.  Now, tell me what you like in your heroes and heroines!

  1. Oooh!! I love series books, espcially when they envolve a bunch of hunky lawmen. I’m a sucker for alpha boys that are in law enforcement that carry a bit of arrogance yet all the while, their protective instincts show through bright and clear. I’m going to have to check out these Black Rock boys.

    • Linda,
There are two books before this one – His Case, Her Baby and The Lawman’s Nanny Op. The fourth book comes out in March – Special Agent’s Surrender and the guy on the cover is hot, hot, hot!

  2. I love series, too. I like for my heroes and heroines to be strong and equal on some level. They sound like great books, Carla. You know you’re a favorite of mine.

  3. When I saw “Cowboy Deputy Now on Sale”…the naughty side of me hoped you were auctioning off some hunk cowboy as an inspirational tool for writers! Yes, my mind goes in tangents.
Lawmen seem to endear themselves to readers, and give one a badge and hat and he becomes irresistible!
Love heroes that take charge, but still has a soft, vulnerable side. Heroines can be feisty, but need that feminine side to show her need for a hero.
    Congrats on the series!

    • Marianne,
I definitely agree about the vulnerable side. I definitely like my men with a hard exterior and a secret soft gooey center!

  5. Loved the Lawmen of Black Rock series, but is Brittany going to get her own story. After all she went through I think it would only be fair for her to find a hunk of her own. Keep up the good work.

    • Julie,
Actually I just turnd Brittany’s story into my editor, so yes, she’s getting her own story. I don’t know when the book is scheduled to come out, but check back here and I’ll announce it when I have a date! Thanks so much for your support!

  7. Brittany diffidently deserves her own story. I’m also glad she’s getting it.
And can’t wait to read about all the weddings with her hunky brothers.

    • Lynne, Don’t Turn Out The Lights isn’t an actual book. It’s just a tag line I use to advertise myself as a romantic suspense author. But, I really appreciate that you went looking for it. I’m hoping to have a brand new big suspense novel up sometime later this year or the first of next year. Thanks again and happy reading!

  10. This is my first time writing to an author. I have just read my first and second books written by you and I thoroughly enjoyed them!! They came together in one book: “Cowboy Deputy” and “The Cowboy’s Secret Twins”. I found out through your website that “Cowboy Deputy” is one of 5 in a series and I will definitely be purchasing the other 4 soon. My question is about “…Secret Twins”. It ended with MysteryMom deciding who would be the next couple she helped reunite but I haven’t found any sequel to this book. Is there a sequel? Will there be a sequel in the future? I know that not every book is part of a series, but this one ended with me wanting the next MysteryMom series! Thanks for writing such enjoyable books!!

    • Shawndel,
Thanks so much for your nice words and so glad you enjoyed my books. I don’t know who wrote other Mystery Mom books. You might want to do a Mystery Mom search on Amazon or on the Harlequin web site and find the others. Thanks for taking the time to contact me! Sorry it’s taken me so long to reply.
