Carla Cassidy Books – Don't Turn Out The Lights!

This, That and the Other

I’m back from the Romance Writers of America conference.  I’ve come home exhausted yet energized and eager to get to work writing better books than ever before.  To say that Orlando in July is hot and humid is kind of like saying Hell is a bit uncomfortable!  But, heat and humidity,  foot blisters and exhaustion were worth every minute of getting to see old friend and making new ones.

I did manage to meet a few local celebrities.

And Pluto wasn’t the only one…

Me, Goofy and Silhouette Editor Keyren Gerlack.  Goofy is the one in the middle!

Finally there was Chip…or is he Dale?

I also found out this morning that I’m a finalist in the Heart of Excellance Reader’s Choice Contest in two categories.  Last Gasp, a Signet Eclipse is a finalist in the romantic suspense category and Scene of the Crime: Bridgewater, is a finalist in the short and long contemporary category.  Needless to say I’m thrilled!

I also want to thank fellow chapter member Gretchen Jones who showed me how to upload pictures and who shared a bit of tipsy at the conference with me by shuffling off to Buffalo across the bar.

  2. Sounds like you guys had a great time and I’m sorry I missed it! I always came home from conference tired but eager to get started or finish a project. There’s just something about all of that positive, happy energy that revives!

Congratulations on being a finalist in the HOE Reader’s Choice Contest!!!!

    • Paris,
There was definitely a lot of positive energy at the conference, but it’s been over a week and I still feel like I’m recovering!

    • Marianne, I don’t know for sure, but I think probably Pluto and Goofy are avid readers! And thanks for the nice words!
