It’s here! The last of the Lawmen of Black Rock series! Special Agent’s Surrender is on sale now and I love this hero! I love this cover! Is this guy hot, or what?!
And now a confession – I’m hooked on American Idol this season. I haven’t watched much of it the last couple of seasons, but this time there seems to be so much amazing talent! It’s an indulgence I’m giving to myself, one that I normally don’t because I discovered long ago that I can’t work to music.
I do my best work while watching television. The better the show, the better my writing goes, but music screws me up. I think maybe part of it is because as a senstive writer type (okay, quit laughing) music speaks to something deep inside me and I find it pulls emotion that is often inappropriate for what I’m writing, so it’s a no-no. Then there’s the problem that I am an entertainer at heart and I want to sing with every song that I know the words to. I also can’t fall asleep at night listening to music for the same reason. I either want to get up and belt out the tune or dance in the middle of the bed.
Back to the writing life, I’m working up a synopsis for a new series and hope to get it sent off by the first of next week. It’s cowboys and danger and love…what could be better?
Thanks for stopping by and keep reading!
Carla Cassidy

Awesome cover — and that guy’s definitely hero material.

I can’t listen to music when I’m writing either. Any noise distracts me – I need it to be real quiet in the house while I work. Congrats on the cover…handsome guy!

Thanks, Marianne – the cover gods were good to me!

Already sounds great, and I adore Mr. Buttchin Special Agent. Music, I can listen to, but I’m finding I prefer quiet nowadays.

Mr. Buttchin – I like that! He is rather hot, isn’t he?!

I loved the story and the cover. I need absolute quiet to write.
Nothing dumb here. Snort!

Sandy,
I’ve never done very well with absolutely quiet! I need noise to work, it just has to be the right kind of noise!

Cindy,
Thanks for popping in here. Yes, Brittany is getting her own book. Unfortunately it won’t be out until the first of next year. Hopefully when it comes out you’ll remember that you wanted to read it! Thanks again. (and I know I already answered you in private email, but couldn’t ignore your post here!)

Just wanted to say I’m loving this series, even though I grabbed ‘Cowboy Deputy’ off the shelf thinking you were someone else! Her name is Carla Capshaw and I love her historical inspirational romances, so I was amazed to see her in this category and wanted to see how she did with it. (Must have been a ‘senior moment’ when I got the names mixed up.) Well, turns out, my initial disappointment has done a complete 180. My ‘oops’ worked out great, because I found a whole clan of hunky heroes to cuddle up with. I actually read them out of order (Benjamin, Jacob, Tom and I’m reading Caleb right now), but it doesn’t matter. Each love story has its own special appeal.
When I checked in on this site, I nearly cried when I read that ‘Special Agent Surrender’ was the last in the series. “Aaargh!” I thought. “What about Brittany?” but then I read the response to the poster above and was greatly relieved to hear that after all you’d put her through she will at last find true love. When her book comes out, I will definitely remember that I want to read it.
